This parallel poem was written as an extension of I am Your Nurse (Perry, 2009, p. 24). Building on Perry’s original poem, I reflected on the therapeutic nurse-patient relationship and the role of presence, empathy, and trust in nursing practice. This artifact represents my understanding that nursing extends beyond clinical interventions and is grounded in meaningful human connection.
I am your nurse.
I meet you in uncertainty.
I stay through the heavy moments.
I learn your fears.
I soften the lonely moments.
